LIGH Hits 1%!

The Long Island Green Homes team is proud to announce that we have completed our 600th whole-home energy retrofit!  This is a significant achievement, and it means that we have succeeded in reaching 1% of all single family homes in the Town of Babylon.  1% completion may not seem like a lot to get excited about, until you take a closer look. 

Retrofitting just 600 single family homes in Babylon means:

● every year, we prevent 2777 metric tons of CO2 from entering the air
● every year, $682,000 is spent in our local economy instead of energy bills
● every year, we reduce our country’s energy dependence by 4634 barrels of oil

Everyone who has taken advantage of the LIGH program should be proud to know that they have not only improved their home, but have helped to make their community cleaner, safer, and more prosperous.

As we celebrate this great achievement, we are also marking the end of our 3rd year in operation.  Over this time, we’ve met so many residents who are as excited as we are about making their home “Green”.  Everyone who has taken advantage of the LIGH program should be proud to know that they have not only improved their home, but have helped to make their community cleaner, safer, and more prosperous.
